Mr. Thompson has both a broad business background and a formal legal background, with over 20 years of experience in the investment industry, as well as in mergers and acquisitions and operating experience. Before he joined WPGP he was a Director with WestAM where he was responsible for international, special situations and real estate investments and was a member of WestAM's executive and investment committees. Prior to WestAM, Mr. Thompson was a Director of the Private Markets Group of FLI. Previously, he provided investment consulting services to both institutional investors and investment management companies. Mr. Thompson has direct private equity and real estate investment transaction experience, including workout situations in the United States, Europe and Asia. Earlier in his career, Mr. Thompson was responsible for the acquisitions and management of a $1 billion real estate portfolio for the Ameritech pension trust. He has a J.D. degree from Indiana University Law School and a B.A. in government from Bowdoin College.
